Aanmitaagzi partnered with Jumblies Theatre to present a theatre arts exchange program. Jumblies and Aanmitaagzi artists delivered workshops in dance, acting, story-telling, music and shadow theatre for youth and children of Nipissing First Nation and Toronto. The land, the stories, and the people theme for this project focused on the Nipissing Anishnaabe tradition of maple syrup. The program joined the Co-Artistic Director’s, Penny Couchie and Sid Bobb, family practice of going into the sugar bush; harvesting sap, making maple syrup, eating together and sharing the harvest.
