Ice Follies 2014: Ohkwamingininiwug
February 15 – March 7, 2014

Ice Follies 2014 was titled Ohkwamingininiwug (“Ice People”). The name was chosen to embrace the collaborative nature of the north and the ideology behind Ice Follies 2014. We are the North. We work towards common goals. We are Ice People through collaboration and partnership.

As part of the Dances of Resistance project, Aanmitaagzi presented a large-scale performance at Ice Follies titled Chi Odjig (Anishinaabemowin for “Great Fisher”). The work was choreographed by Penny Couchie with guest artists, internationally acclaimed Columbian indigenous dancer Alejandro Ronceria and acclaimed choreographer and dancer Rulan Tangen.
